ORIGIN: NOT The Footy Show set to reunite for a Game 1 Special
Origin News and Views and @NRLTweet Player of the Year Votes

2013 NRL Premiership

By W D Nicolson - May 31, 2013

NOT The Footy Show was a staple of the Rugby League landscape from 2010-2012 and although regular production has ended, is proud to present a reunion special that coincides with State of Origin Game 1 on June 5.

ORIGIN 1: The confirmed NSW and QLD Game 1 Teams are here |

Origin Special out June 1st
Get excited... the team is back for a little bit of Origin fun.

In about 3 hours (7pm Friday May 31) your old friends from NOT The Footy Show will be reuniting for a special Origin Podcast recording.

Host Warrick Nicolson will be joined by in-studio co-hosts Dave 'DC' Chapman and Nic McInerney for an hour long show talking all things Origin.

Phoning in from all corners of Australia will be Channel 9 Darwin's Sports Presenter Jake Hauritz to talk about the NSW lineup, and 101.5 FM Queensland's Matthew Duncan to talk QLD's squad.

Over the course of our conversations - NOT The Footy Show will unveil their picks and predictions for Game 1 (and the Series), and the entire panel will be answering the most crucial question in all of Origin:

What does it mean for you if NSW win the Series this year?

Conversely the token QLDer on the panel - Matthew Duncan - will be explaining why keeping NSW on the canvas is so important to the Banana Benders.

Plus the Queen of Rugby League has already left a message for all her fans... yes, Big League's Maria Tsialis is back in business with a heartfelt plea to the Blues to bring home the bacon this year.

This Origin Podcast will be recorded tonight/Friday at 7pm in Sydney, and the show will be uploaded on iTunes and our YouTube Channel sometime Saturday afternoon June 1.

If you would like to answer the above question "What does it mean for you if NSW win the Series this year?" then drop us a line on our Facebook Page before 7pm!

While the creator of the show hasn't missed the weekly responsibility of putting it all together, he has missed the weekly chats about footy with our good friends and in turn, with our listeners.

We aren't coming back for good by any stretch, but if our listeners get behind this one-off special and promote why they like it all over the place - who knows we might able to put a few more out before the end of the season... but we can't promise anything.

It's just good to be back... sort of.
Have you missed the show? Honestly... because Mr DC really does.

@NRLTweet Player of the Year Award
Round 11 Leaderboard

As regular readers of and followers of @NRLTweet know - we run The @NRLTweet Player of the Year Awards each season (starting in 2010) and they return once again for 2013 with another group of excellent Rugby League judges.

You can follow the Votes live after each game via this Hashtag #NRLTweetPOTY

One of the reasons we set this up is the Dally M Award lacks the kind of objectivity that a true player of the year award really should have, and while we aren't claiming our system is perfect - it is judged on what happens on the field with reputations and bias left by the wayside.
