Round 16 Tips

2014 National Rugby League Premiership
By W D Nicolson - June 26, 2014

It only took 15 weeks but good stuff's happening!

First NSW won Origin!!!! (it may be discussed on the new 18 minute NOT The Footy Show Podcast here) and then www.wdnicolson.com backed up that bold call with a perfecto in Round 15.

Download Episode 151 here
The Dragons and Knights were the 'bold' picks and they came good... and ironically the author only saw the Storm-Eels and Knights-Cowboys games so maybe watching the games isn't helping?

To Round 15 and there's 7 games on the schedule... and sorry, still no Late Mail. After Origin 3 things will resume as normal... maybe - are you surviving without it?

Truth be told The Postman's Postmen are struggling of late... no TLC on the squads last week and the resulting low scores told the story.
ROUND 16 TIPS
Sea Eagles v Roosters - Sea Eagles by 4 points.
Ripper of a contest - home ground is all that makes this pick Manly.
Broncos v Sharks - Broncos by 10 points.
Expect the Sharks to give Brisbane some sort of fight... no Gillett, McCullough or Parker are big outs but who can pick Cronulla these days?
Tigers v Raiders - Tigers by 6 points.
Actually wouldn't be surprised to see the Tigers win by 20... but gotta believe the Canberra players have a little bit of pride left to show?
Cowboys v Rabbitohs - Rabbitohs by 2 points.
Souths can easily lose this if they turn up with the wrong attitude because despite being a few key troops down - the Cowboys don't suck. But gotta stick with the relatively healthy Bunnies in comparison - even in Townsville.
Warriors v Panthers - Warriors by 4 points.
WRONG... something tells me the only way Penrith lose this is if they concede two early tries and since when have the Warriors delivered in games they need to win? Still... Warriors remain the pick at this stage because I'm still not convinced with Penrith (YES THEY ARE 2ND so we are on drugs).
Eels v Knights - Eels by 2 points.
Jarryd Hayne at home beats the moderately impressive Knights from last week... just.
Dragons v Storm - Storm by 6 points.
Sorry Saints... can't pick you, even at home against Melbourne.

The Postman's Late Mail is in flux... we apologise but when he can find the time to dig some up before everyone else does it on Thursday he'll bring it back.

The 'Special Fried Rice' picks have returned but given it is me v me, every week - I'll just be listing my 'SFR' of the week with the FootyTab Starts as the variation aspect to keep things interesting vs just saying 'this team will win this week - guaranteed'.

*www.wdnicolson.com makes no guarantees of decent picks every week - but we hope they are.

Round 15 Tips

2014 National Rugby League Premiership
By W D Nicolson - June 19, 2014

Meh... 3 from 5 last week - missing on the Eels and Storm.

But NSW won so who gives two hoots about NRL tipping?

GO THE BLUES!

To Round 15 and there's 6 games on the schedule... and sorry, still no Late Mail. After Origin 3 things will resume as normal.

But this weekend - it's time for a few days in Melbourne on holiday kids - so enjoy the footy!
ROUND 15 TIPS
Raiders v Bulldogs - Bulldogs by 6 points.
Canberra should give themselves some hope... but if they don't - the Dogs might put a score on even with their injury concerns and Origin backups.
Warriors v Broncos - Warriors by 6 points.
Just don't know... the Broncos might be in this if they defend well (okay, so are most teams) but if the Warriors start with confidence - gotta go the home team if Brisbane's Origin players don't backup.
Sharks v Sea Eagles - Sea Eagles by 6 points.
Some big ins for the Sharks and DCE may not and Watmough will not backup for Manly... still I've been burnt enough times this year by you Cronulla, so no.
Storm v Eels - Storm by 2 points.
Really want to see Hayne backup this time - for the sake of the Eels more than NSW. Smith likely will but Slater may be touch and go but I still don't know Hayne's status so thinking Melbourne in Melbourne. Plus I'm on holidays this weekend (first genuine days of the season!!!) and this will be a game I take in while in Melbourne.
Titans v Dragons - Dragons by 4 points.
Quite honestly do not care. Go with Benji.
Knights v Cowboys - Knights by 2 points.
See above - going home ground.

The Postman's Late Mail is in flux... we apologise but when he can find the time to dig some up before everyone else does it on Thursday he'll bring it back.
