SPECIAL FRIED RICE - ROUND 15
- Waz 7/14: Knights, Matt 11/14: Cowboys, Dave 9/14: Storm; Nic 11/14: Sea Eagles -
Note: The order in which Special Fried Rice (the game we guarantee that team will win) is chosen rotates - this week Nic had 1st choice, Waz 2nd, Matt 3rd and Dave 4th. So it isn't as easy as it sounds to tip correctly each week.

THE NRL TWEET's ROUND 15 PREVIEW
Welcome to Season 2011... after an off-season that often feels longer (or shorter - depends if you like cricket or not) than it is - the footy is back. Here on www.wdnicolson.com we've got all the Tuesday Team News, Wednesday Previews and Friday Late Mail (sourced from SMH and beyond) that will keep your Tipping and Fantasy habit well fed. This preview integrates our NRL Injured List - which if you haven't bookmarked by now - I suggest you do so.
FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
              V
7:45pm (Local) 17 June @ Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.
Coming In...
5th BRONCOS TEAM RECORD 9-4 for 20 Points, +43.
1st DRAGONS AWAY TEAM RECORD 10-2-1 for 23 Points, +108.
Head to Head Last 10...
BRONCOS 3 DRAGONS 7
Tuesday Team News...
BRI: Hoffman, Copley, Hodges, Beale, Yow Yeh, Lockyer (c), Wallace, Hannant, McCullough, Anderson, Thaiday, Glenn (c), Parker. Bench: Reed, Lui, Dodds, Hala, Kenny, Norman, Baptiste.
[Team Changes - The Broncos plan to have their 5 Origin players backup but Justin Hodges is no guarantee despite being named. Jack Reed goes back to the bench as Dale Copley holds his spot in the three-quarter line. ]
STI: Boyd, Morris, Gasnier, Stanley, Nightingale, Soward, Hornby (c), Hunt, Young, Weyman, Scott, Creagh, Prior. Bench: Green, Fien, Cuthbertson, Merrin.
[Team Changes - The Dragons had Boyd, Gasnier, Soward, Merrin and Creagh on Origin duty, while Brett Morris was named to return from a hammy injury. Since Origin Creagh and Scott are out and Morris also won't play. Peni Tagive comes in on the wing and expect Dean Young and Adam Cuthbertson to start in the second row and Nathan Fien at hooker. The bench will be finalised Friday but rookie Alex McKinnon did travel with the team. ]
Wednesday Game Preview...
The Broncos look like getting the advantage in terms of the players backing up from Origin but I can't tip against the Dragons with any confidence... yet. Dragons in a tight one.
Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
SMH and Other Late Mail 17/06 - The Dragons lost Morris, Scott and Creagh to injury (changes noted above) with Michael Greenfield and Jack Bosden joining the squad with Alex McKinnon. The Broncos are a chance of getting Matt Gillett back from injury either this week or next, while Corey Parker and Justin Hodges remain in some doubt.
BREAKING - ABC Grandstand says both Corey Parker and Justin Hodges will not play. Expect Jack Reed to replace Hodges and don't rule out Matt Gillett coming in for Parker. Dean Young is a late scratching for the Dragons.
The NRL Tweet's Tip...
DRAGONS To Win By 4 Points.

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
              V
7:45pm (Local) 17 June @ ANZ Stadium, Sydney.
Coming In...
12th RABBITOHS TEAM RECORD 4-8 for 12 Points, -54.
14th TITANS AWAY TEAM RECORD 4-9 for 10 Points, -84.
Head to Head Last 10...
RABBITOHS 2 TITANS 4
Tuesday Team News...
SOU: Wesser, Merritt, Farrell, Inglis, Roberts, Sutton, Sandow, Ross, Luke, McPherson, McQueen, Taylor, Crocker (c). Bench: Pettybourne, Tyrrell, Clark, Peats, Corrigan, Ranieri, Apps.
[Team Changes - The Bunnies will hope Greg Inglis and Dave Taylor backup from Origin 2 and have named both. Dylan Farrell returns from injury and Jason Clark and Alex Ranieri are added to the bench. ]
GLD: Zillman, Michaels, Toopi, Tomane, Mead, Campbell, Prince (c), Bailey, Srama, Henderson, Laffranchi, Minichiello, Harrison. Bench: White, James, Thompson, Ridge, O'Dwyer, Bird.
[Team Changes - The Titans added former Knight Beau Henry to their roster but he won't play this weekend. Ashley Harrison and Greg Bird have been named to backup from Origin 2]
Wednesday Game Preview...
The Titans were ordinary in the first half of their win over the under-strength Dragons last week and the Rabbitohs had a real dig against the Storm. If Inglis plays I'm feeling much better about my choice of the Rabbitohs here, esp with the Titans on the road for the second straight week. (If Inglis is a confirmed non-starter, I will heavily consider changing my pick to the Titans)
Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
SMH and Other Late Mail 17/06 - The four rep players should backup with Greg Inglis in the most doubt, Shaun Corrigan would come in for him.
BREAKING - Ashley Harrison will play but Greg Bird is out of the Titans team.
The NRL Tweet's Tip...
RABBITOHS To Win By 7 Points.

SATURDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
              V
5:35pm (Local) 18 June @ AusGrid Stadium, Newcastle.
Coming In...
9th KNIGHTS TEAM RECORD 5-7 for 14 Points, -7.
10th PANTHERS AWAY TEAM RECORD 5-7 for 14 Points, -17.
Head to Head Last 10...
KNIGHTS 6 PANTHERS 4
Tuesday Team News...
NEW: W Naiqama, McManus, Sa'u, Lulia, Uate, Roberts, Gidley (c), Fa'aoso, Hilder, Tuimavave, Houston, Costigan, Edwards. Bench: De Gois, Kaufusi, Ciraldo, Tolar.
[Team Changes - The Knights have named James McManus and Dan Tolar despite ankle injuries that were thought to be keeping them out for a few weeks. Tyrone Roberts comes in for the departed Beau Henry at five-eighth. ]
PEN: Coote, Simmons, Paulo, Tighe, Purtell, Burns, Walsh, McKendry, Kingston, Grant, Waterhouse, Smith, Lewis. Bench: Seluini, Iosefa, Bell, Weston, Civoniceva (c).
[Team Changes - The Panthers added Nafe Seluini and Joseph Paulo to their squad and have named Petero Civoniceva on the bench and Luke Lewis at lock to backup from Origin. ]
Wednesday Game Preview...
Which Newcastle team turns up? The one that really should've beaten the Tigers or the one that got beat by the Roosters a few weeks back? But I'll pick the Knights because Luke Lewis looks like he won't play... he's that important.
Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
SMH and Other Late Mail 17/06 - The Panthers will almost certainly lose Luke Lewis to a hamstring injury but Civoniceva should play. Kurt Gidley and Akuila Uate will play. James McManus is in doubt with Peter Mata'utia to come in.
The NRL Tweet's Tip...
KNIGHTS To Win By 10 Points.
|-| |-| |-|
SATURDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
              V
7:35pm (Local) 18 June @ Dairy Farmers Stadium, Townsville.
Coming In...
4th COWBOYS TEAM RECORD 9-4 for 20 Points, +64.
7th WARRIORS AWAY TEAM RECORD 7-5 for 16 Points, +19.
Head to Head Last 10...
COWBOYS 6 WARRIORS 4
Tuesday Team News...
NQL: Bowen, Graham, Jones, Cooper, Fai-Fai Loa, Thompson, Thurston (c), Scott (c), Payne, Tamou, T Sims, Bolton, Johnson. Bench: Morgan, Riethmuller, A Sims, L Ah Mau, Tupou.
[Team Changes - The Cowboys get Thurston and Scott back from Origin 2 and have brought Will Tupou onto the bench as cover. Scott Bolton starts for the suspended Glenn Hall. ]
WAR: Locke, Fisiiahi, Inu, Mannering (c), Vatuvei, Maloney, Johnson, Packer, Heremaia, Lillyman, Mateo, Steve Rapira, Taylor. Bench: Hohaia, Latimore, Matulino, Brown.
[Team Changes - The Warriors get Aaron Heremaia back but lost Micheal Luck to a knee injury last week. Glen Fisiiahi comes onto the wing and Lewis Brown will move onto the bench as a forward. ]
Wednesday Game Preview...
With Thurston and Scott back in the team the Cowboys get their confidence back and get a tough matchup with the Warriors coming to town. I like how the Warriors play but in Townsville I can't tip against the Cowboys (who would've thought I anyone could've said that 12 months ago?)
With the news that Bolton is out I'm contemplating the Warriors... big time.
Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
SMH and Other Late Mail 17/06 - Thurston and Scott should backup from Origin 2 but Bolton is struggling with a calf injury. Gavin Cooper would move to the pack and Will Tupou into the centres. Elijah Taylor should play despite a sore shoulder.
BREAKING - Scott Bolton is out with a calf injury and James Segeyaro comes on to the bench.
The NRL Tweet's Tip...
COWBOYS To Win By 2 Points.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOOTBALL
              V
2:05pm (Local) 19 June @ ANZ Stadium, Sydney.
Coming In...
8th BULLDOGS TEAM RECORD 6-6 for 16 Points, -11.
15th SHARKS AWAY TEAM RECORD 3-9 for 10 Points, -89.
Head to Head Last 10...
BULLDOGS 8 SHARKS 2
Tuesday Team News...
CBY: Barba, Turner, Morris, Lafai, Lett, Roberts, Keating, Tolman, Ennis, Eastwood, Pritchard, Ryan (c), Stagg. Bench: Kasiano, Millington, Payne, Halatau, Hodgson.
[Team Changes - With Trent Hodkinson still out suspended, Kris Keating is named at half (despite a hammy injury) and Ben Roberts gets a chance at five-eighth. Despite the return of a guy who passes the ball to his centres - Bryson Goodwin has been punted despite not getting passed the ball more than once in the last five weeks and Michael Lett replaces him. Tim Lafai is in for Jamal Idris in the centres who was stood down for a week for missing training. Aiden Tolman and Greg Eastwood return from injury. ]
CRO: Gordon, M Wright, Pomeroy, Best, Gordon, Graham, Townsend, Snowden, Morris, Douglas, Smith, Bukuya, Gallen (c). Bench: Tupou, Tautai, Flanagan, Cordoba, Tagataese.
[Team Changes - The return of Jeremy Smith is a boost to the pack but the three quarter line still looks average despite Isaac Gordon adding his speed. Former Titan Sam Tagataese gets a run off the bench after switching clubs last week. ]
Wednesday Game Preview...
The Dogs aren't going great in 2011 and have dropped Idris and Goodwin this week and won't have Trent Hodkinson but they get Tolman, Eastwood and Roberts back and that's big. The Sharks are going worse in 2011 - so I can't tip them here.
Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
SMH and Other Late Mail 17/06 - The Dogs should get Michael Ennis back from Origin duty and Paul Gallen should do the same for the Sharks. Kris Keating and Corey Payne have hammy doubts, while Kade Snowden is no certainty.
The NRL Tweet's Tip...
BULLDOGS To Win By 4 Points.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOOTBALL
              V
3:05pm (Local) 19 June @ Leichhardt Oval, Sydney.
Coming In...
6th TIGERS TEAM RECORD 7-6 for 16 Points, +22.
2nd STORM TEAM RECORD 10-3 for 22 Points, +137.
Head to Head Last 10...
TIGERS 4 STORM 6
Tuesday Team News...
WTG: McKinnon, Ryan, Ayshford, Moltzen, Brown, Marshall, Lui, Gibbs, Farah (c), Galloway, Dwyer, Ellis, Heighington. Bench: Simona, Fulton, Woods, Fifita.
[Team Changes - The Tigers have no changes from the team that came from a mile behind to beat the Warriors, although Robert Lui's wrist may rule him out after being replaced early in that game. ]
MEL: Slater, Duffie, Nielsen, M Blair, Quinn, Widdop, Cronk, Bromwich, Smith (c), Norrie, A Blair, Proctor, Lowrie. Bench: Hinchcliffe, Manu, Woolnough, Lowe, O'Neill, Kostjasyn, Champion, Waqa.
[Team Changes - State of Origin reps Slater, Smith, Cronk and Nielsen are named to backup but Justin O'Neill, Rory Kostjasyn, Beau Champion and Sisa Waqa are named on the bench. ]
Wednesday Game Preview...
Will the Tigers show up for the full 80 minutes this weekend? They haven't had to in recent weeks to get the win but they get the Storm this week - admittedly at Leichhardt - and Melbourne are chugging along nicely. If the Storm's Big 3 play, I'm gonna back their class over the Tigers current inconsistency.
Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
SMH and Other Late Mail 17/06 - The Storm hope to have their quartet play on Sunday after playing Origin 2 - but there is a chance any of Smith, Nielsen, Cronk or Slater could be rested. The Tigers have no rep players but Lui is still in doubt.
The NRL Tweet's Tip...
STORM To Win By 7 Points.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
              V
7:05pm (Local) 20 June @ Brookvale Oval, Sydney.
Coming In...
3rd SEA EAGLES TEAM RECORD 10-3 for 22 Points, +133.
11th EELS TEAM RECORD 4-7-1 for 13 Points, -86.
Head to Head Last 10...
SEA EAGLES 6 EELS 4
Tuesday Team News...
MAN: B Stewart, D Williams, Lyon (c), Matai, Hopoate, K Foran, Cherry-Evans, King (c), Ballin, Rose, Watmough, Galuvao, G Stewart. Bench: Mauro, Buhrer, T Williams.
[Team Changes - Anthony Watmough and Will Hopoate are named to backup from Origin 2, while there is still no Brent Kite or Michael Robertson. ]
PAR: Hayne, Burt, Morgan, Loko, Atkins, McGuire, Robson, Mannah, Keating, MoiMoi, Hindmarsh (c), Lasalo, Smith. Bench: Shackleton, Allgood, Webb, Horo.
[Team Changes - The Eels have named Jarryd Hayne and Tim Mannah to backup from Origin 2 but the team is unchanged from Round 13. ]
Wednesday Game Preview...
The table says the Sea Eagles should win this by quite a few unless the Eels don't get a stand out performance from Hayne and their pack really makes a statement. Not sure that's going to happen, so it's Manly for me.
Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
SMH and Other Late Mail 17/06 - The Sea Eagles won't have Will Hopoate after he suffered a hamstring strain in Origin 2, but Watmough, Hayne and Mannah will backup. Michael Robertson, Michael Oldfield or Tony Williams will replace Hopoate.
The NRL Tweet's Tip...
SEA EAGLES To Win By 14 Points.
