FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

GAME STATS 7:45pm (Local) 25 June @ Campbelltown Stadium, Campbelltown.
NRLTweet Game Summary: Canterbury have a mountain of possession but take their time putting a poor Wests Tigers team out of their misery 16-6 at Campbelltown.
Injuries: Frank Pritchard (Ribs), Simon Dwyer (Neck/Shoulder), Liam Fulton (Head)
2011 @NRLTweet Player of the Year Votes
Judge: Greg Delaney
4 - Michael Ennis, CBY
Controlled the ruck all night for the Dogs, taking plenty of good metres and picking the right decision. Also made 53 tackles (Ed note: He missed 11!) tightening the middle of the field for the Dogs.
2 - Frank Pritchard, CBY
Only played 30 minutes due to injury but he was outstanding in that time. Scoring a nice try, he terrorised the Tigers making 80 metres, breaking 3 tackles and offloading 3 times in the short time he was on.
1 - Andrew Ryan, CBY
Stood tall last night running a hard earned 110 metres and making 38 tackles. A real captain's knock.
Judge: Matthew Vickers
4 - Aiden Tolman, CBY
Did the hard work. 140 metres from 21 carries; 29 tackles; an offload; a line break assist and a try assist in 51 minutes.
2 - Trent Hodkinson, CBY
Provided pretty much the only creativity in the game; in addition his kicking game meant that the Tigers started most sets deep inside their own half.
1 - Michael Ennis, CBY
At his niggling best. Made 53 tackles (Ed Note: Did I mention he missed 11?). In a fight that probably wasn’t fair due to possession count, he showed why he has the Blues 9 jersey, and Farah watches from Tiger Tiger.

GAME STATS 7:05pm (Local) 24 June @ nib Stadium, Perth.
NRLTweet Game Summary: South Sydney beat the elements (and the Broncos) with some outstanding second half defence in Perth. Bunnies 16-12 winners.
Injuries: TBA
2011 @NRLTweet Player of the Year Votes
Judge: Matthew Duncan
4 - Greg Inglis, SOU
Showing his best regular season club form for some time. Was very good in attack but his defence was the most impressive part of his game. Read the play all night and tackle with intent and passion.
2 - Dave Taylor, SOU
Proved a handful for the Broncos defence all night. Lockyer will have nightmares of the Coal Train Running at him all night. Facing 4 weeks out for a dangerous tackle in the first half.
1 - Sam Thaiday, BRI
Never stopped trying all night and actually remembered he was a forward rather then trying to "playmake".
Judge: Haylen Southon
4 - Chris Sandow, SOU
Set up Souths first try with a deft pass to McQueen, and also their second try through a clever kick for Rhys Wesser. Also kicked 4/4 goals.
2 - Corey Parker, BRI
Produced his usual workhorse effort. With no 'standouts' for Brisbane, he toiled hard all night.
1 - Dave Taylor, SOU
A mixed night saw him placed on report for a dangerous tackle, however was always a handful in attack, running out wide at smaller defenders.

GAME STATS 5:35pm (Local) 25 June @ Skilled Park, Gold Coast.
NRLTweet Game Summary: Cronulla put two good performances back to back & send the woeful Titans to yet another defeat in a game they had to win. Sharks 36-12.
Injuries: Kade Snowden (Shoulder - late withdrawal)
2011 @NRLTweet Player of the Year Votes
Judge: Ben Hoese
4 - Paul Gallen, CRO
Had slightly less work to do playing on an edge but made up for it with strong support runs that resulted in the two tries that blew the game open.
2 - Nathan Gardner, CRO
Great support play coupled with his top pace resulted in him scoring two tries, one set up by himself.
1 - Matt Srama, GLD
In a side that was overpowered almost everywhere, Srama was the one stalwart. Constantly popping up around the field and very good in defence.
Judge: Matt Spillane
4 - Paul Gallen, CRO
Wonder if he's more machine then man. Led the Sharks in tackles(31), hitups(16), metres(137) and found time to score back to back tries.
2 - Chad Townsend, CRO
Impressive game from the rookie. Kicking game was sensational and seems like a pretty handy goal kicker to boot.
1 - Nathan Gardner, CRO
Scored 2 tries and as always his support play was "Terry Lambish".

SATURDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

GAME STATS 7:35pm (Local) 25 June @ Canberra Stadium, Canberra.
NRLTweet Game Summary: Canberra are pretty good... and surprisingly so is Josh McCrone as the Raiders actually play some open footy beating Parramatta 25-12.
Injuries: David Shillington (Pectoral), Ryan Morgan (Hammy)
2011 @NRLTweet Player of the Year Votes
Judge: Warrick Nicolson
4 - Sam Williams, CAN
Took control of the Raiders attack when they had failed to crack Parramatta early and scored the opening try of the game with some great footwork. Made the most of his kicks and defended well enough on the left edge to stop big FuiFui MoiMoi's early charges. Then topped off the night with a try to put the game out of reach.
2 - Josh McCrone, CAN
His good games are so few and far between (the last one was in Round 1 this year) that you need to savour every minute of his good ones. Mind you the moment the Fox Sports commentators gave him glowing praise for his performance he produced two clangers to end the match and his field goal probably wasn't going over unless it his the Parramatta player. Still his try was very good (and not the first time he's exposed a forward from a scrum) and he didn't have to defend (just 4 tackles) so congrats Josh.
1 - Nathan Hindmarsh, PAR
Could just about be my favourite footballer right now. His workrate in defence is stunning and while his running game is not what it used to be - you'd pick him for his defence every day of the week (unless you are NSW Coach). His turn and chase to corral Nathan Massey's break and then make 3 of the next 4 tackles on his line was nothing short of brilliant.
Judge: Nigel Wilbow
4 - Josh McCrone, CAN
Scored a try, set up a couple more, had a field goal and plenty of strong runs. Raiders fans don't get too excited that's his one good game for the year over (Ed note: He played well in Round 1... but that's almost 4 months ago!)
2 - Nathan Hindmarsh, PAR
Made 53 tackles, 12 hitups and 98 metres. Score would have been much worse for Parra without him there to save the day on a few occasions.
1 - Tom Learoyd-Lahrs, CAN
Put his hand up for NSW selection with 20 tackles, 11 hitups and 140 metres from the bench.

GAME STATS 2:05pm (Local) 26 June @ Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland.
NRLTweet Game Summary: The Storm win another match with their defence, overcoming the Warriors 16-8 at Mt Smart Stadium in a good game of footy.
Injuries: TBA
2011 @NRLTweet Player of the Year Votes
Judge: Craig Buchanan
4 - Gareth Widdop, MEL
A game where he showed just how versatile he really is, starting at five-eighth, he worried the Warriors in attack and defence and proved he knew the role well scoring the storms first try.
2 - Cooper Cronk, MEL
Cronk's kicking game troubled the Warriors for the entire match. He hit them hard early with his up and under kicks which lead to the Storm's first half tries and then reproduced it often in the second half - the last of which led to Slater's 2nd try from a Hohaia mistake to seal the game.
1 - Feleti Mateo, WAR
For a player who started from the bench Mateo was a revelation, hitting holes at the right time and making big metres for the Warriors, while his inevitable offloads once again troubled the opposition. He contributed well to the defensive effort as well, making a decent number of tackles (23), although he didn't score his impact from the bench earnt him the 1 point.
Judge: Michael McLucas
4 - Cooper Cronk, MEL
Dictated the the contest with his kicking game and as a result the Storm were in control throughout.
2 - Feleti Mateo, WAR
Looked very dangerous off the bench and tried very hard to deliver the punch required for the Warriors to win but just didn't get the backup from his team-mates.
1 - Gareth Widdop, MEL
Continues his good form with a very solid performance which included the first try and some great defence.

GAME STATS 2:05pm (Local) 26 June @ Centrebet Stadium, Penrith.
NRLTweet Game Summary: The Panthers open up their game plan and are rewarded with a 30-20 victory over the Cowboys in Penrith. Lewis and Civoniceva outstanding.
Injuries: Aaron Payne (Hand), Kevin Kingston (Groin), Junior Vaivai (Knee)
2011 @NRLTweet Player of the Year Votes
Judge: Haylen Southon
4 - Luke Lewis, PEN
Set up the Panthers second try, scored a try of his own, and looked dangerous with every touch..
2 - Petero Civoniceva, PEN
Scored a great individual try on top of his tireless go forward game, that netted 17 runs for 154m, 6 tackle breaks and 3 offloads plus his 20 tackles in 56 minutes.
1 - Gavin Cooper, NQL
Scored 2 tries in a losing outfit, playing the entire 80 minutes in the backrow.
Judge: Justin Davies
4 - Luke Lewis, PEN
Since Origin 2, he's gone to another level and showed more of his match winning class on Sunday.
2 - Luke Walsh, PEN
Controlled the game with his kicking and popped up everywhere in attack.
1 - Petero Civoniceva, PEN
For that step and swerve and try alone he gets the one vote.

GAME STATS 3:05pm (Local) 26 June @ AusGrid Stadium, Newcastle.
NRLTweet Game Summary: The Roosters get an early try that's the only bright spot for the visitors as the Knights - minus Kurt Gidley - win 18-10 at AusGrid.
Injuries: Kurt Gidley (Hammy - late withdrawal), Neville Costigan (Knee), Justin Carney (Hammy)
2011 @NRLTweet Player of the Year Votes
Judge: Rob Neilsen
4 - Isaac De Gois, NEW
Took over the leadership role left absent with no Gidley or Mullen. Rallied the team and made some great attacking decisions from dummy-half.
2 - Richie Fa'aoso, NEW
Dynamic defence and some smart runs in attack. His best game of the season.
1 - Akuila Uate, NEW
Once again some great offensive bursts. Scored a try and was in the mox for a couple more!
Judge: Dane Neville
4 - Ryan Stig, NEW
Didn't look like this was only his second game of first grade. Moved to halfback with Kurt Gidley out and preceded to control the game beautifully with his passing and kicking game.
2 - Isaac De Gois, NEW
Played his best game of the season, coinciding with the news his future was decided - he will rejoin Cronulla in 2012.
1 - Peter Mata'utia, NEW
Defended well on the wing and scored a big try.

GAME STATS 7:05pm (Local) 27 June @ WIN Stadium, Wollongong.
NRLTweet Game Summary: Super game of Rugby League at a packed WIN Stadium as St.George-Illawarra get the money 24-6 over Manly. But how is Soward's hammy?
Injuries: Joe Galuvao (Wrist), David Williams (Hammy), Glenn Stewart (Back), Kieran Foran (Hip), Jamie Soward (Hammy)
2011 @NRLTweet Player of the Year Votes
Judge: Maria Tsialis
4 - Darius Boyd, STI
Made some really important tackles and pretty much just turned up all night. Safe as a house at the back.
2 - Mark Gasnier, STI

Despite being egged on by Steve Matai all night, Gasnier kept his cool
and defended like a pro.
1 - Jason King, MAN
Running better than I've seen him go all year. Something has sparked the
big front rower (Ed Note: Getting dropped from Origin will do that) and Manly will be better for it.
Judge: Warrick Nicolson
4 - Darius Boyd, STI
His kick returns were brilliant throughout the night and his involvement level in attack was excellent. Then he stepped up to save a couple of tries... great performance in a team that really played as one.
2 - George Rose, MAN
Could be the game that sees his reputation as a cult figure have the 'above average front rower' tag attached to it. He was tremendous playing big minutes with the injuries to the Manly team and on at least two occasions he was back to take the 2nd hitup of a set from a Dragons' kick.
1 - Brett Stewart, MAN
Looked the man most likely to beat the Dragons defence all evening but not even a stellar hand from the fullback could breach the St.George-Illawarra line before halftime when the Sea Eagles had a thousand sets of six. Ran freely.
