THE BULLDOGS STAND ALONE... as two legends move on.Two big stories in Rugby League this week with Wayne Bennett announcing he will not coach the Dragons in 2012 and Darren Lockyer set to retire at the end of 2011... as a result the poor old Bulldogs at 3-0 are getting no love whatsoever.

RABBITOHS (12th) - RECORD 1-2 for 2 Points, -6.
SEA EAGLES (6th) - RECORD 2-1 for 4 Points, +13.
Head to Head Last 10...
RABBITOHS 3 SEA EAGLES 7 - Manly won both games in 2010 (26-25 in Round 15 and 30-22 in Round 8).
Tuesday Team News...
SOU: Wesser, Merritt, Inglis, Farrell, Talanoa, Sutton, Sandow, Asotasi (c), Luke, Stuart, S Burgess, Taylor, Tyrrell. Bench: Ross, McPherson, Crocker, McQueen.
[Team Changes - One big change for the Bunnies with the suspended Eddy Pettybourne (3 weeks for a dangerous throw) replaced by Sam Burgess who returns from a shoulder injury he aggravated in Roudn 1. There is some doubt on Rhys Wesser's hamstring and a decision on his place in the side will be made later in the week. ]
MAN: B Stewart, Robertson, Lyon (c), Hopoate, D Williams, K Foran, Cherry-Evans, King (c), Ballin, Kite, Watmough, Galuvao, G Stewart. Bench: Seu Seu, Buhrer, Rose, Mauro, Robinson.
[Team Changes - Jamie Lyon has been named to return from a hamstring tear earlier than expected and takes Michael Oldfield's place in the team - although Oldfield may be on standby for Lyon. There is no Tony Williams after he was a late withdrawal from the Newcastle game with an ankle injury. David Williams will play despite a knee complaint. Tim Robinson and Vic Mauro will fight it out for the final bench spot. ]
Souths lost Sam Burgess and Rhys Wesser on Wednesday to shoulder and hamstring injuries and with that favouritism for this game. Although the Bunnies made light work of the Eels last week, they will miss Wesser and Burgess in a big way and Eddy Pettybourne's suspension will be a blow. Manly beat a depleted Newcastle team on Sunday - so face the short turnaround but due to the injuries were able to cruise through the second half.
Manly get Jamie Lyon back for this game which is another boost, as is the location of the game (Gosford's Blue Tongue Stadium) which means that South Sydney effectively forfeit any home ground advantage they usually get (if any) at ANZ.
Taking Manly here because of their advantage up front.

Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
TEAM CHANGE 30/3 - Wesser and Burgess are out and Nathan Peats and Kane Morgan will debut. Merritt to fullback, Morgan on to the wing, Michael Crocker will start and Peats comes on to the bench.
SMH Late Mail 1/4 - Manly look like they will get Jamie Lyon back and either Vic Mauro or Tim Robinson will miss out on the bench. David Williams may also be a late withdrawal with a knee injury and Tony Williams or Michael Oldfield could take his place. The Rabbitohs will take the team they finalised on Wednesday to Gosford.

BRONCOS (3rd) - RECORD 2-1 for 4 Points, +20.
PANTHERS (14th) - RECORD 1-2 for 2 Points, -52.
Head to Head Last 10...
BRONCOS 5 PANTHERS 4 DRAW 1 - Penrith won their only meeting in 2010 22-12 in Round 10, but Brisbane smashed them in both games in 2009.
Tuesday Team News...
BRI: Beale, Copley, Reed, Hodges, Yow Yeh, Lockyer (c), Wallace, Thaiday, McCullough, Hannant, Glenn, Gillett, Parker. Bench: Hunt, Te'o, McGuire, Tronc.
[Team Changes - Justin Hodges is no certainty despite claiming he would lineup against the Panthers on Friday Night. He is battling a recurring hamstring injury. Ben Hannant made it through Round 3 without an issue (calf) and will start. Dale Copley comes onto the wing for Gerard Beale who shifts to fullback to cover Josh Hoffman who is out for a week or two with a corked shin. ]
PEN: Coote, M Gordon, Jennings, Tighe, Simmons, Burns, Kingston, Grant, Iosefa, Civoniceva (c), Waterhouse, Plum, Lewis. Bench: McKendry, Bell, Purtell, Tahu, Seluini.
[Team Changes - With Luke Walsh out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, Matt Elliott has moved hooker Kevin Kingston to halfback and starts Masada Iosefa at hooker. Nafe Seluini comes onto the bench and Brad Tighe has pushed Timana Tahu to the bench. Luke Lewis goes back to lock and Travis Burns starts at five-eighth after recovering from a hamstring strain. ]
Brisbane defended their butts off against the Titans and despite barely touching the ball in the opening 60 minutes - left the Gold Coast with a 14-8 victory. That's two straight games where the Broncos have defended their way to victory but the way the Panthers are playing right now - they won't need to rely on defence a third time.
The Panthers were woeful in two of their first three games and when the Sharks can come to Centrebet Stadium and beat you by 32 points - alarm bells should be ringing. Penrith also lost Luke Walsh during that game and a few key players are carrying injuries.
All signs point to picking the Broncos but the way this year has gone a stunning Penrith upset makes complete sense.

TEAM CHANGE 31/3 - Sam McKendry is out of the Penrith side with a hip injury according to Sports News First and has been replaced by backrower Sarafu Fatiaki.
SMH Late Mail 1/4 - With McKendry out, Fatiaki comes in and will try to force his way onto the bench ahead of Nafe Seluini. The Broncos will be 1-17.

RAIDERS (10th) - RECORD 1-2 for 2 Points, +2.
TITANS (16th) - RECORD 0-3 for 0 Points, -43.
Head to Head Last 10...
RAIDERS 4 TITANS 4 - Neither side has won consecutive games in this matchup since the Titans re-entered the competition in 2007. Canberra won 28-24 in Round 13 and the Gold Coast 24-4 in Round 3 last year.
Tuesday Team News...
CAN: Dugan, Ferguson, Croker, Thompson, Vidot, McCrone, Orford, Tilse, Waddell, Shillington (c), Thurling, Harrison (c), Fensom. Bench: Buttriss, Miller, Learoyd-Lahrs, White, Galea.
[Team Changes - Josh Dugan is officially named at fullback even though he was a late starter against the Tigers. Dane Tilse and Travis Waddell start for Tom Learoyd-Lahrs and Glen Buttriss who move to the bench and Josh Miller takes the injured Joe Picker's spot in the team, with Trevor Thurling starting in the second row. Danny Galea is the 18th man. ]
GLD: Zillman, Tonga, Michaels, Thompson, Mead, Bird, Prince (c), Bailey, Brown, White, Laffranchi, Minichiello, Ridge. Bench: Henderson, Tagataese, James, Campbell, Meyers.
[Team Changes - Matthew White comes back into the team and starts alongside Luke Bailey in the front row. Ben Ridge is named at lock for the injured Ashley Harrison and one of Michael Henderson, Sam Tagataese, Ryan James or Brad Meyers could make way on the bench. ]
The Raiders have dropped two straight after looking every bit a premiership contender in their opening game... so one has to wonder which is the real indicator of their ability as a football team.
The Titans on the other hand haven't got a win yet and despite nearly every stat favouring them (except the scoreboard) against the Broncos - are yet to show any real sign that they can contend again.
Canberra at home is always a daunting task but the Titans are the kind of team that when their confidence comes back in attack - they'll win anywhere. Scott Prince just needs to remember that the 5th tackle kick is not the only way to create points.
Canberra will get my tip but the Titans will beat someone sooner rather than later.

SMH Late Mail 1/4 - Canberra will leave Danny Galea as 18th man and there remains a chance that Sam Williams could displace Josh McCrone at five-eighth. The Titans are waiting for prop Matthew White to be cleared by the QRL after he picked up a dangerous contact charge while playing in the QLD Cup last weekend.
Injury Cloud 1/4 - Scott Prince 'apparently' is in serious doubt with a hamstring strain. But it is April 1st so beware.

EELS (13th) - RECORD 1-2 for 2 Points, -22.
COWBOYS (4th) - RECORD 2-1 for 4 Points, +18.
Head to Head Last 10...
EELS 6 COWBOYS 4 - Parramatta have dominated this matchup since Round 20, 2008 - winning the last 4 games.
Tuesday Team News...
PAR: Hayne, Burt, Reddy, Morgan, Uaisele, Mortimer, Robson, Mannah, Keating, Shackleton, Hindmarsh (c), Lasalo, Smith. Bench: Mitchell, Horo, Allgood, Webb.
[Team Changes - Chris Walker has a hip injury and has been replaced by last year's regular starter at centre Joel Reddy. Casey McGuire has a calf injury and has been replaced by Anthony Mitchell in the squad. Carl Webb and Mitchell Allgood return from hamstring injuries to force Billy Rogers out of the squad and FuiFui MoiMoi will serve a one match suspension. ]
NQL: Bowen, Graham, Tupou, Tonga, Fai-Fai Loa, Thompson, Thurston (c), Scott (c), Payne, Tamou, Cooper, Hall, Johnson. Bench: Segeyaro, L Ah Mau, T Sims, A Sims.
[Team Changes - Neil Henry makes no changes whatsoever to the Cowboys 17 that crushed the Storm on Monday night. ]
The Eels had their chance to impress me against Souths and although two big calls went against them in the opening ten minutes - they were very ordinary in attack from that point on. The only change they've made is bringing Joel Reddy back into the NRL and that doesn't do anything to suggest they will be any more potent in attack (unless Jarryd Hayne explodes).
The Cowboys thumped the Storm in Townsville on Monday night but had turned it up deluxe against the Knights at the same venue the week before that - so you're risking a lot picking them on the road. Still Thurston and Bowen were great behind a mistake free forward pack against the Storm, so that is a very good sign.
This is at Parramatta but you'd think if the Cowboys held the footy they have too much attacking potency for the Eels to counter.

Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
SMH Late Mail 1/4 - Antonio Winterstein is apparently close to a comeback but it'll be hard to find a spot for him in the Cowboys three-quarter line with the form of that unit against the Storm. The Eels should send out the 17 named on Tuesday.

SHARKS (8th) - RECORD 2-1 for 4 Points, +10.
WARRIORS (15th) - RECORD 0-3 for 0 Points, -27.
Head to Head Last 10...
SHARKS 5 WARRIORS 5 - The Warriors won both games in 2010 (37-10 & 30-16).
Tuesday Team News...
CRO: Gardner, M Wright, Pomeroy, Best, Williams, Kelly, Graham, Snowden, Morris, Douglas, Smith, Tupou, Gallen (c). Bench: Cordoba, B Wright, Aiton, Collis, Mannah, Tautai.
[Team Changes - Shane Flanagan has made just the two additions to the bench with Dean Collis and Taulima Tautai joining a 19 man squad. ]
WAR: Fisiiahi, Tupou, Berrigan, Mannering (c), Inu, Mateo, Maloney, Lillyman, Heremaia, Packer, Brown, Ta'ai, Luck. Bench: Locke, Sam Rapira, Matulino, Taylor, Mara.
[Team Changes - Ivan Cleary isn't happy with his team being 0-3 and has made mass changes. Lance Hohaia, Brett Seymour and Joel Moon have been dropped outright, while Jerome Ropati needs a knee reconstruction and Kevin Locke and Sam Rapira are benched after starting last week. Glen Fisiiahi starts at fullback, Bill Tupou comes on to the wing, Simon Mannering and Shaun Berrigan shift to the centres, Feleti Mateo goes to five-eighth, James Maloney goes to halfback, Jacob Lillyman starts at prop, Ukuma Ta'ai comes into the second row and Elijah Taylor and Alehana Mara come onto the bench. Those are not small changes.. they are save my job kind of changes. ]
This game was moved to Taupo in New Zealand and perhaps giving up their home ground advantage will work against the Sharks. They have just come off beating the defending premiers at home and the Panthers away but even in early Autumn the fields in New Zealand can be greasy and miserable to play footy in. And the fact the Sharks showed some great second phase footy against the Panthers is something that won't be easy to replicate in conditions they are not used to.
The Warriors rang mass changes and Ivan Cleary will be hoping his team responds... if they don't he's going to be under extreme pressure at 0-4 in a season when some judges had them winning the competition.
Picking the Warriors because the game is in New Zealand and despite their reshuffle they've still got a lot of attacking weapons.

SMH Late Mail 1/4 - The Sharks will likely leave Dean Collis and Taulima Tautai out come game day. The Warriors will choose two of Kevin Locke, Elijah Taylor and Alahana Mara for their bench.

KNIGHTS (2nd) - RECORD 2-1 for 4 Points, +32.
DRAGONS (5th) - RECORD 2-1 for 4 Points, +16.
Head to Head Last 10...
KNIGHTS 3 DRAGONS 7 - The Dragons have won 3 of the last 4 games including a 26-18 win in Round 25 last year.
Tuesday Team News...
NEW: W Naiqama, McManus, Sa'u, MacDougall, Uate, Gidley (c), Mullen, Kaufusi, Hilder, Tuimavave, Taia, Houston, Edwards. Bench: Karawana, Paterson, Fa'aoso, Tolar.
[Team Changes - Kurt Gidley should play this week and has been named at five-eighth. Wes Naiqama moves to fullback with Adam MacDougall back in the centres. Joel Edwards gets the start at lock with Chris Houston moving to the second row. Marvin Karawana fills the utility spot on the bench. Injured players ruled out from last week include Shannon McDonnell, Cameron Ciraldo and Beau Henry, while Junior Sa'u, Jarrod Mullen, Zeb Taia and Gidley are no certainties this week. ]
STI: Boyd, Morris, Gasnier, Cooper, Nightingale, Soward, Hornby (c), Hunt, Fien, Gower, Scott, Creagh, Prior. Bench: Greenfield, Green, Merrin, Stanley, Cuthbertson, Rein.
[Team Changes - Beau Scott returns from suspension in the backrow. Mitch Rein has joined the bench and Adam Cuthbertson holds a spot there also as possible cover for Ben Creagh who has a neck injury. ]
This game would've been tasty had Newcastle not lost nearly a quarter of their squad to injury last week. Even if Kurt Gidley does play the Knights look under-strength against the Dragons - who went back to their winning ways in Auckland. Beau Scott returns from suspension for the Dragons who were ably led by Dan Hunt and Trent Merrin v the Warriors. The Knights get Adam MacDougall back but have injured players lining up all over the place.
St.George-Illawarra on the road for me.

Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
SMH Late Mail 1/4 - The Knights have yet to confirm their 17 with Gidley, Sa'u and Fa'aoso the players in the most doubt. Taia and Mullen should play. The Dragons will make a decision on Ben Creagh before the game, with Adam Cuthbertson on standby. Dean Young will not return (according to the club) until next week.

ROOSTERS (11th) - RECORD 1-2 for 4 Points, -4.
TIGERS (9th) - RECORD 2-1 for 4 Points, +8.
Head to Head Last 10...
ROOSTERS 5 TIGERS 5 - The Roosters won all 3 games in 2010 including their epic qualifying final 19-15 in extra time.
Tuesday Team News...
SYD: Minichiello, J Carney, Aubusson, Kenny-Dowall, Leilua, T Carney, Pearce, Ryles, Friend, Kennedy, Anasta (c), Nu'uausala, Myles. Bench: Waerea-Hargreaves, Masoe, Riddell, Symonds, Conn.
[Team Changes - With Sam Perrett out with a broken ankle, former Raider Justin Carney gets his chance on the wing ahead of Phil Graham. Mitchell Aubusson goes to the centres for the dropped Kane Linnett and Frank-Paul Nu'uausala keeps his starting second row spot. Jake Friend starts and Mark Riddell goes to the bench. Tom Symonds and Daniel Conn join an extended bench. ]
WTG: McKinnon, Brown, Ayshford, Moltzen, Utai, Marshall, Miller, Fifita, Farah (c), Galloway, Dwyer, A Schirnack, Heighington. Bench: Daniela, J Schirnack, Woods, Payten.
[Team Changes - The Tigers lose Lote Tuqiri and Chris Lawrence long term and Robert Lui was not named due to an ankle injury. Tim Motlzen goes to the centres and Mitch Brown comes onto the wing. Youngster Jacob Miller might get a chance at halfback after being named to debut for Lui, while Alan Schirnack starts in the second row. Geoff Daniela is also on the bench. ]
The loss of the Tigers' left side attack is a huge hole to fill for Tim Sheens and despite naming Tim Moltzen in the centres and rookie Jacob Miller at halfback - don't be shocked if Motlzen lines up at halfback, Blake Ayshford goes to left centre alongside Mitch Brown and Geoff Daniela comes off the bench to play right centre. Up front there is also a chance we might see a big name forward return but right now that left edge re-shuffle is the most likely late change. How it will impact the Tigers remains to be seen but Benji Marshall is in wonderful form right now so it is hard to doubt his influence - no matter who is outside him.
The Roosters dropped a very winnable game against the Bulldogs and will be fired up to get back to 2-2 at home. Braith Anasta, Mitchell Pearce and Todd Carney have now had 2 games back together and I sense they'll click on the back of their go-forward here.
Picking the Roosters at home but don't count Benji and Robbie Farah out by any stretch.

Tipping + Fantasy Late Mail...
SMH Late Mail 1/4 - Jacob Miller got a vote of confidence from Tim Sheens after it was revealed that Robert Lui will miss up to 6 weeks with an ankle injury. However Geoff Daniela could still start. The Roosters will choose between Tom Symonds and Daniel Conn for their final bench spot.

STORM (7th) - RECORD 2-1 for 4 Points, +12.
BULLDOGS (1st) - RECORD 3-0 for 6 Points, +23.
Head to Head Last 10...
STORM 6 BULLDOGS 4 - Canterbury has won 2 of the last year since 2009 but the Storm won 5 straight from 2005-2008.
Tuesday Team News...
MEL: Slater, O'Neill, Nielsen, Champion, Quinn, Widdop, Cronk, Proctor, Smith (c), Norrie, Blair, Lowrie, Hinchcliffe. Bench: Woolnough, Lowe, Thompson, J Bromwich.
[Team Changes - Sika Manu is out with a serious ankle injury and Todd Lowrie starts in the second row. Adam Woolnough joins the bench. Kevin Proctor (cheekbone) and Dane Nielsen (ankle/concussion) are in doubt so Matt Duffie might make a late appearance. ]
CBY: Barba, Turner, Lafai, Idris, Goodwin, Keating, Hodkinson, Tolman, Ennis, Paea, Pritchard, Ryan (c), Stagg. Bench: Kasiano, Foster, Payne, Halatau, Armit.
[Team Changes - Mickey Paea and Frank Pritchard maintain their starting roles with Sam Kasiano and Jake Foster staying on the bench. Chris Armit joins a 5 man bench as cover for David Stagg (concussion). ]
Canterbury are undefeated at the top of the ladder and Melbourne got spanked by the Cowboys in Townsville - yet the Storm are favourites here... go figure.
Melbourne didn't defend well early and made mistakes in the wet - and the Cowboys took full advantage of that and the Storm never recovered. While the Bulldogs continue to play solid football and held onto a 4 point lead for the last ten minutes against the Roosters.
Pick Melbourne because of the home ground advantage but if the Dogs win again this week show them due respect in the next few weeks.

Kevin Proctor may still be a late withdrawal with a cheekbone injury. Chris Armit will miss out for the Bulldogs unless any injuries hit over the weekend.
