|=| Congratulations to the St.George-Illawarra Dragons on their second straight Minor Premiership.
Round 25 of the NRL Regular Season saw the end of the Parramatta & Newcastle premiership campaigns for 2010. Both teams lost their 'must win' games against South Sydney & St.George-Illawarra respectively and should be promptly planning their off-season vacation.
The Dragons secured their second Minor Premiership in two years by beating the Knights 26-18 in Newcastle - as their differential is vastly superior to the 2nd placed Wests Tigers. The Tigers defeated the Melbourne Storm 26-14 at Leichhardt but despite being just two points behind the Dragons on the ladder - cannot hope to make up the 168 points differential in one week.
The Gold Coast Titans had held 2nd spot entering Round 25 but their shock 30-16 loss to Cronulla at Toyota Stadium has put their Top 4 spot in serious danger with one game to play. The Penrith Panthers moved into 3rd with a thrilling final minute 24-18 win over Canterbury despite having Petero Civoniceva sent off. As a result the Dragons, Tigers & Panthers are all guaranteed home games in Week One of the Finals.
The Canberra Raiders continued their surge - winning for the 7th time in their last 8 games - this time crushing the Cowboys 48-4 at Canberra Stadium to move into the final playoff spot. Brisbane lost heavily to the Warriors 36-4 in Auckland to put themselves on the brink of missing the playoffs for the first time since 1991. South Sydney kept their hopes alive with a 24-16 win over Parramatta on Friday Night. Finally the Sydney Roosters secured their playoff spot with a come from behind 30-14 win over Manly at the SFS on Sunday.
But it appears Injuries & Suspensions from Round 25 may have a huge impact on deciding the title - with every team picking up a serious concern with the Finals just a fortnight away.
