WHAT WE SAID PRE-GAME
GAME 3 PREVIEW
NSW v QLD @ ANZ

|=| WEDNESDAY JULY 7
NSW BLUESVQLD MAROONS
|=| New South Wales Blues: 2 Games, 2 Losses, 30 Points For, 62 Points Against.
|=| Queensland Maroons: 2 Games, 2 Wins, 62 Points For, 30 Points Against.
|=| Referees: Tony Archer & Shayne Hayne. Kick-Off: Wednesday July 7 @ 8:10pm.
|=| Initial Market: NSW $2.60 v QLD $1.50 (Graphic is Tuesday's Team Lineup)
|=| Tuesday's Preview: The Blues are trying to avoid being swept by Queensland for the first time since 1995... Queensland for all their dominance in the last five years - have yet to close out a series 3-0. Motivation remains for both teams despite the 'dead rubber' but as strong as the Maroons desire is to win 3-0 - the Blues have been comprehensively outplayed in both games when it mattered and must be dying to get a token victory at home in Game 3. Maroons have to be favourites and truth be told are actually longer odds than I expected at $1.50.
|=| Team Selection + Fantasy News 29/6 (any further updates will be with help from SMH's Late Mail): Eight changes for NSW for Game 3. In come Kade Snowden, Tim Mannah, Jason King, Michael Jennings, Michael Gordon, Anthony Watmough, Greg Bird & Luke Lewis.... out go Nathan Hindmarsh, Matt Cooper, Joel Monaghan, Ben Creagh, Trent Waterhouse, Brett White, Michael Weyman & Luke O'Donnell. Queensland have made just the one change - Petero Civoniceva in for Ben Hannant with Ben Lowe the new 18th man. 5/7 Update: NSW have brought in Chris Lawrence & Luke Douglas as backline & forward cover for the match.
 |=| NRL Tweet's Prediction: MAROONS by 2 =  CORRECT
 |=| |=| |=|
STATE OF ORIGIN 3:
WHO WINS & WHY?
For NSW to win: If QLD take NSW lightly and NSW's best players are their best players... it might be close enough with 10 to go for NSW to steal it.
Game Plan? Not the ones used in Games 1 & 2...
NSW Bottom Line For Victory:
Simple question for the players - Do you believe you can beat QLD?
For QLD to win: If it ain't broke, don't fix it... more of the same quality from the Maroons class players will do.
Game Plan? Stick to what worked in Games 1 & 2...
QLD Bottom Line For Victory:
Surely the desire to get their first clean sweep must drive this group?

The NRL Tweet's Prediction Game
If you're watching State of Origin Game 3 with a bunch of friends - get some paper out and jot down everyone's predictions for the following categories.
How Scoring Works:
Each category has its own value but basically - 1 point for 100% right (i.e. Greg Inglis scores the 1st try or picking the Game Winner - NSW or QLD), 1/2 points for 50% right (Pick the score is NSW 20-12 and you had either NSW 20 or QLD 12 - you get half a point.) Pick the Score Exactly is worth 3 points. Most points at the end of the nights gets the glory or if you decide - a prize of your own choosing before kick-off. Only one player/score is allowed for each category - first in best dressed but only open up one category at a time to avoid one person stealing all the good options!
It adds some fun to the night... especially if your state is getting smashed in the game itself.
NRL Tweet's Predictions for Game 3
Fulltime Score (3pts): QLD 20-18 (QLD 23-18 = 0.5 pts)
Halftime Score (1pt): QLD 14-12 (QLD 13-6 = 0)
First Tryscorer (1pt): Sam Thaiday, QLD (Darius Boyd, QLD = 0)
Last Tryscorer (1pt): Michael Jennings, NSW (Willie Tonga, QLD = 0)
First Knock-On (1pt): Greg Bird, NSW (Paul Gallen, NSW = 0)
First Penalty Conceded (1pt): Cameron Smith, QLD (At the Ground it was hard to tell? Anyone?)
Will there be a 40/20? (0.5pt): No (No = 0.5)
Will there be a Field Goal? (0.5pt): No (Yes = 0)
Man of the Match (1pt): Johnathan Thurston, QLD (Billy Slater, QLD = 0)
The NRL Tweet scored 1 point out of a possible 10 points for Game 3 - after 0 in Game 2 and a respectable 2.5 in Game 1.
Pretty much a full year until Origin I 2011!
