NRL Tips & Previews Round 18 2009 - AFL Tips & Previews Round 15 2009 - Ashes Series Begins The future of South Sydney Coach Jason Taylor could be over if the Bunnies lose to an undermanned Panthers outfit to kick-off Round 18 of the 2009 NRLPremiership. In the AFL the Saints have beaten the Cats in an epic encounter to take the outright lead on the ladder as Barry Hall ends his career as a Sydney Swan. In Cricket there was no room for Stuart Clark in the Australian First XI for the opening Ashes Test against England in Cardiff and you can follow the match and series in depth via regular video blogs here on wdnicolson.blogspot.com and my Twitter feed. Can you kick a goal from the sideline just 1.5 metres from the tryline - interested in giving it a go? Go to http://wdnicolson.blogspot.com/2009/05/kick-off-2009-are-you-up-to-challenge.html for more information on Kick-Off 2009! NRL & AFL Match Previews below. =================================================================== NRL ROUND 18 - 2009 Quick hit Previews for the Greatest Game of All as a heap of Teams have the bye and 34 players prepare for Origin III. RABBITOHS over PANTHERS > John Sutton will wake up tonight and deliver the Bunnies a victory Jason Taylor desperately needs. KNIGHTS over RAIDERS > Picking the Knights at home... but have picked against Canberra the past two games and ended up wrong... not the worst thing in the world. WARRIORS over BULLDOGS > Dogs will miss Morris and Goodwin as much as they will Kimmorley and Ennis. And with still no Ben Hannant - the Warriors get the benefit of the doubt and a lack of rep players playing at home. DRAGONS over SEA EAGLES > Manly are a big show in this if the Sea Eagles pack can dominate the middle of the field. The Dragons were flattered by the scoreline last week against the Roosters and Jamie Soward won't score 20 odd points every week to save them... That being said - Dragons to win. TITANS over EELS > Just about the lock of the weekend if Bailey, Rogers and Minichiello play for the Titans. If those guys are out the Eels are somewhat of a chance but if they play - Titans by 20.
=================================================================== AFL ROUND 15 - 2009 St.Kilda v Geelong didn't disappoint and now we won't see anymore of Barry Hall in a Sydney Swans uniform... now to the race for the Finals. BULLDOGS over MAGPIES Love the way the Dogs ran riot over the defending premiers Hawthorn - they take that confidence and beat Collingwood this Friday for mine. BOMBERS over SWANS Sydney might be free of Hall but they are a fairly middle of the range side in 2009 even with him there. The Bombers to take the cash from the SCG on SATURDAY AFTERNOON - get there! BLUES over TIGERS Richmond might push Carlton but the Blues need to keep the momentum building and can't afford a loss to the lowly Tigers. CATS over LIONS Geelong lose one game and all of a sudden are only moderate favourites for the trip to the Gabba. Bookies forgetting last week was like their second loss in 30 games? No Gary Ablett Junior is a factor of course - but watch the rest of the class step up in his absence. CROWS over WHARFIES Adelaide continue to streak into the Finals at the expense of the up and down Freo. HAWKS over KANGAROOS Hawthorn are desperately lucky to be playing North after their horrendous first half against the Bulldogs last week. POWER over DEMONS Congrats to the Demons for beating the Eagles and although they are at home to the struggling Power - still taking the Power. SAINTS over EAGLES The Saints march on towards a chance at a perfect season... =================================================================== 2009 ASHES UPDATE This website is covering the Ashes with regular video blogs, twitter updates and features over the course of the Test Series so keep checking the main page or the archive list on the right for the next addition.
