Watch out - 6/8 tipping weeks are about.

Missed on those pesky Cowboys and useless Raiders - but the rest of the round went fairly predictably with only the late loss of Jamie Lyon seeing us pick the Bulldogs in Round 3.

Game of Round 4 is Saturday afternoon's Knights-Panthers - one of three games this week with questionable tipping gut feels. 
Don't like a favourite in Warriors-Broncos or Cowboys-Storm either.

But we're tipping at 67% so put your party hats on for this start to 2015 if you track our tips.

ROUND 4 TIPS
Souths over Eels
Bulldogs over Tigers
Knights over Panthers
Sharks over Titans
Manly over Dragons
Warriors over Broncos
Roosters over Raiders
Cowboys over Storm

Good feelings on Souths, Dogs and Roosters. Solid thoughts on Sharks and Manly. Dice roll on Knights, Warriors and Cowboys... though you know the Cowboys will win the week I don't pick them (I've picked them 3 straight weeks in 2015...)

Last week 6/8: Got Bulldogs, Warriors, Storm, Souths, Knights, Roosters.

How are we still tipping at 63%!

So back to back 5/8 weeks to start the season - maintaining the acceptable 63% success rate.

But let's be honest - we want and need to do better.

While no Tipping Comp can be won after the opening couple of rounds - you can rule yourself out of contention before March is out every year.

Game of the Round is Monday's Roosters-Panthers tilt at the SFS - and while I like the Broncos-Cowboys, Manly-Bulldogs and Souths-Tigers games - the Chooks and Penny Panthers have played very good footy to open the season so they deserve 15,000 watching at the SFS surely?

But overall - this is a round you can get excited about going to watch at the ground or observe from the couch.

Plus it is #PlayNRL Round, so that's as good a reason as any to get to a game - more details.

Bulldogs over Manly *TIP CHANGE after Lyon withdrew
Cowboys over Broncos
Warriors over Eels
Raiders over Dragons
Storm over Sharks
Souths over Tigers
Knights over Titans
Roosters over Panthers

Though it is dice roll city on Manly, Cowboys, Raiders and maybe even Knights and Roosters. Only 'confident' on Warriors, Storm and Souths.

Last week: Got Dogs, Broncos, Panthers, Rabbits and Tigers, whiffed on Manly, Knights and Warriors.

Starting the year with 5 tips from 8 games is more than acceptable - because if you can tip at almost 63% all season long - you'll be in contention in nearly every mate v mate tipping comp you are in.

Mind you - if you want to win any online comp - the minimum you need each week is 5/8 and truth be told you need 6/7s with regular 8s to be amongst the tipping gurus.

So let me just be clear:

You almost certainly won't get 6/7 correct suggestions here every week - but yes, that's the goal!

Also please note - due to time constraints this year - there will be no pick reasoning, just cold hard tips most weeks. Apologies if you need more, but that's all the time I can give it - just know that whatever reasoning I have goes into the choice of tip.

Game of the Round is fairly clear with Souths v Easts - and the way Canberra played in Round 1 may suggest their clash with the Warriors on Sunday night could be very entertaining.
